Our Learning Resources Centres are at the heart of the student experience and you will find one in each of our campus areas.
Each LRC has...
Student Zone – here you will find staff to help you with all aspects of your student life and studies. Whatever your needs, help with study, help with finance, submitting coursework, paying fees, finding your way round the physical and virtual university, personal needs come here first. If the staff can’t answer your question they will know someone who can. LRC staff will provide help with:
- Enrolment
- Student loans
- Tuition Fees
- Council tax exemption
- Debt management advice
- Coursework submission
- Appointments with Welfare, Counselling and Employability teams
Library collections – you’ll find the print versions on the shelves, don’t forget to check the Electronic library which can be access from anywhere in most cases. LRC staff will provide help with:
- Finding information
- Using electronic books & journals
- Archives and special collections
- Borrowing books
- Appointments with specialist staff who can help with study and research support needs
Study spaces, PCs and laptops - each LRC has a good wireless network throughout the building. You will find silent, quiet study and unrestricted zones to meet your study needs. A range of spaces are bookable in advance including seminar rooms for practice presentations and other work related skills. LRC staff will provide help with:
- Access to PCs
- Printing, photocopying and scanning
- Wireless access
- Laptop loans
- Your computing queries
Additional PCs are available in the Faculty IT suites
Light refreshments are available from the vending machine.
The LRCs are open 7 days a week during Semester time, with Aldham and Avril LRCs open 24/7 for computing access. Find out more here about LRC opening times
