Dean of Faculty appointed

Kate Johnston has been appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Education, Community and Leisure.
Kate has been the Director of Academic Delivery for the Faculty for the last four years, leading staff working on a wide range of education, sport, tourism and consumer programmes.
She has been actively involved in strategic University operations since joining LJMU in 2001, initially as Coordinator of Partnership for Initial Teacher Education and then as Head of Initial Teacher Education, working on regional and national projects with the Training and Development Agency for Schools. She will continue to take a lead role for the University and North West region in the development and implementation of the new national programme for teachers, the Masters in Teaching and Learning (MTL).
As an internal appointee, Kate will assume the position of Dean of Faculty with immediate effect.
