Professor Riley speaks at United Nations

Professor Mike Riley, Director of the School of the Built Environment, was invited to the United Nations in Geneva to discuss how the global property sectors can help aid economic recovery worldwide.

LJMU was the only UK university asked by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the UNECE Real Estate Market Advisory Group (REM) to attend the conference entitled 'Recovery, Sustainability, and Evolution: Perspectives on the Real Estate Sector.' The overall aim of the meeting was to ensure the development of effective government policies and more efficient practices in the private sector.

Professor Riley commented: "It is recognised that the sustainable management of worldwide property sectors will be essential for the recovery of the global economy and for the creation of long term economic sustainability. LJMU being invited to participate in such a key discussion at the United Nations demonstrates that the School of Built Environment has established itself as a world-leader in its field."
