In Memoriam

It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden death of Dr Stan Lambert. Stan was a Technical Unit Manager within the Faculty of Science and sadly passed away on 13th January 2011.

A very private person, Stan loved academia in general and assisting both staff and students with their teaching and research in particular.

During his 20 year career with the university, Stan was never happier than when presented with the challenge of a seemingly unresponsive piece of kit to restore. He would take great delight in tinkering with it, until it finally succumbed to his deft touch.

For the past 16 years, Stan was the university’s Radiation Protection Supervisor, an important role within the university. Valued by both staff and students alike, Stan will be greatly missed.

We send our deepest condolences to his wife Yuen and his family, to whom Stan was devoted.

The funeral will be held at St Thomas’s Church, Warrington Road, Wigan, WN4 9PL on Friday 28th January 2011 at 12.00 noon.
