Pilot scheme to create a regional network of staff advisory group

The two year pilot scheme to create a regional network of HE staff advisory groups ended in January 2008.

Over the last decade, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of private and public sector organisations that have adopted the staff network model. Networks usually provide opportunities for peer support as well as performing advisory roles in strategic and governance issues. This two year HEFCE initiative, which concluded in December 2007, worked with a consortium of 12 partner HEIs, to explore the potential value of the staff network model within the higher education sector and to assist in the establishment of staff networks, supporting BME, LGBT, Women and Disabled staff in the partner institutes.
