The Programme is research active and all teaching is informed by the Programme team’s research.

Current research interests include:

Steve Burns: Tourism marketing and public sector involvement with tourism development.

Mike Aiello: Managing change through middle-management change agency, international perspectives on communities of practice; students issues, plagiarism and collusion.

Dr Martin Selby: Urban Tourism, Urban Regeneration, Place Image, Tourist Experience, Cultural Analysis of Consumption, Humanistic Tourism and Leisure

Dr Hazel Andrews: Identity (especially nation and gender constructions); social constructions of space and place; the socio-cultural body and embodiment; food and drink cultures; consumption practices; ethnography; qualitative research methods; hospitality; myth; representation; semiotics; symbolism; anthropology of the everyday.
